More about Spa wafers:
Spa wafers are a type of sweet dish, made from two crunchy wafers, among which there is a sweet splash. The tradition of production was founded by Czech Germans.
Archaeological findings suggest that wafers were produced sometime in the 18th century. Since then, the first documented forms for their baking come from, but the origin of this dish is not much known. Since 1856, the first industrial waffle-making establishments have begun, which started mass production of wafers.
Czech producers of wafers strive for this product to be recognized as a traditional Czech product by the European Union and thus given special protection.
